Spring & fall cleanups
A property cleanup: an overgrown side yard cut back, and the walkway beside the house uncovered and edged.
New eavestroughs and downspouts for homes and townhome properties across Welland, sized to the roof and placed so the water ends up somewhere sensible.

Every quote here lists trough size, downspout count and where each downspout will empty.
On Welland's clay, 'somewhere sensible' matters. Water that pours out of a downspout beside the foundation doesn't soak away here — it sits against the wall. And water that goes into the sanitary sewer is exactly what the City has been trying to get out of it.
Eavestrough installation in Welland
Welland's inflow and infiltration studies traced more than 2,300 sources of rainwater getting into the sanitary system, many of them private downspouts. The City's SWAP grant requires downspouts, foundation drains and weeping tile to be disconnected before it pays. A new eavestrough system is the natural time to do the downspout part.
Most of Welland sits on the Haldimand Clay Plain, where little water soaks in. A downspout on clay needs an extension or a splash pad that carries water well away from the house, toward a spot that slopes away — otherwise it pools by the foundation and finds the basement.
On clay, the whole roof's runoff goes somewhere at once. Troughs sized for the roof area, and enough downspouts to empty them, keep a heavy rain from spilling over the front edge and down the wall.
All of Welland.

Say so on the quote and it's scoped with the eavestrough work: the downspout cut and capped from the sewer connection, and an extension run to a spot that drains away from the house.
It depends on the roof area feeding each run and how steep the roof is. On clay, where every drop has to be carried away, err toward the larger size and an extra downspout rather than the minimum.
Under big trees, often. On an open lot, a yearly cleaning is usually better value. Guards cut how often troughs need clearing — never to zero.
Not across the board, as far as we know. But if you want the City's SWAP flood-protection grant, disconnecting downspouts, foundation drains and weeping tile from the sanitary sewer is a condition. Check the current program terms with the City.
Onto your own property, well away from the foundation and toward a spot that slopes away — never onto a neighbour's lot or a walkway where it will freeze. On clay, a longer extension usually does more than a splash block.
Often, yes, if the troughs are sound and pitched properly. If they're rusted through or undersized, it's usually better value to replace the system together.
Yes. Removal and disposal of the old system are on the quote as their own line.
